What is Diatomaceous Earth?
Diatomaceous earth takes its name from diatomite, a siliceous sedimentary rock of both organic and fossil origin.
Resulting from the accumulation of diatom shells (microalgae) over several million years in the bed of ancient seabed, Diatomaceous earth consists of a white (or brown) porous rock which, once reduced to small granulated, provides ultra-comfortable bedding.
